6 Word Memoir
A tag going around: write a 6 word memoir.
Well here's one for me: DANCING AS FAST AS I CAN
And here's a fuzzy picture of me holding the newest member of Don's greater family on Easter Sunday.

Minnesota Theater of Seasons
Yesterday we got out in the neighborhood for nearly 8K. Notice the street is clear of snow and dry?
Today I traded my running shoes for snow boots to run out to feed the birds.
Our average yearly snowfall is about 50 inches, and we have had less than 40, including the 5 inches we got today... See picture below.. taken this morning.
In contrast, this snowfall will probably put Chicago and Grand Rapids MI over 100 inches for the season. We certainly should have the moisture, but street shoulders will be too snowy and sloppy tomorrow for safe running in Saturday traffic... Soooooooo back to the community center track to run tomorrow.
No time for running on Easter Sunday. On Monday resume training... and look forward to the snow melt and clearing of the Gateway Trail.

SNOW SNOW SNOW SNOW
This early morning scene greeted us today..
It was the wonderful kind of snow that kids love... just right for snowballs ...sticking together ... and plenty of it for building stuff in snow.
Hard to imagine that 8K race two days ago in St. Paul.. in 4 inches of snow. (see previous post.)
So back to the community center track for 9K this morning.
Yesterday we had a free consultation with the new trainer who just started working at the community center. We got a new stretch and exercise program to perk us up.
On the way home we stopped at Target for an exercise ball and some stretch bands. Oh the fun of the variety of it all....

Great Day for the Human Race
Human Race, 8K at 1:20 this afternoon, temperature 36 degrees, south wind about 9 mph
Runners ran on both sides of the boulevard, historic Summit Avenue in St. Paul.
There's Sweet Pea in the white jacket.
Turn around at William Mitchell College of Law, where Runner Dude graduated 10 years ago.
Sweet Pea coming to the finish line. Her time was 4 seconds less than last year! Notice Runner Dude, in orange, over on the left, cheering her on.
Sweet Runner, having a Masterpiece Day!
You can read about his results at Mayo last week on the posts for March 3-7 on Myeloma Hope.
My time was a 1:27 less than last year, which delighted me, because I am not feeling particularly fit right now. Last year at this time I had finished 2 marathons since New Years.
We ran indoors and out this past week... and participated in myeloma information/support group meetings in both Stillwater and St. Louis Park.

First outdoor run in the neighborhood... oh yea!
28 degrees, light breeze, snow on the ground
Yesterday, after 4 days of driving down to Mayo Clinic, it was actually great to get back to the indoor track for 6K.

Just 5K on the Indoor Track Today
Heard on the radio today: This was the first February since 1978 that the temperature here did not break 40 degrees. . . . All month!

10K on Indoor Track
Last year at this time we were doing marathons every other month. It is about time to start doing some longer runs, but the cold weather and the indoor track have not inspired me.
Anyway, I am trying to think of the 10K yesterday as some sort of beginning!
LATER PS: You can read about our trip to Mayo Clinic today at Myeloma Hope.
