This is the Christmas plant, purchased last Christmas at the supermarket, which sat looking half-dead all summer.
But even the Christmas cactus knows it is Christmas.

Nice Christmas plant. A friend gave me a neglected 6 inch tall potted evergreen six years ago that she rescued from Safeway after Christmas, and I planted it in March that year in my yard. It immediately went into shock, got all yellow and lost most of its bristles and seemed moribund. But I always carefully avoided mowing over it when I did my grass. Whenever my friend stopped by, we would always troop to the back corner of my yard so she could "measure" it in relation to her. Three years later it was waist high. Now six years later the evergreen now stands full and green and towers four feet above our heads. Our Christmas tree.
Merry Christmas, Sunshine in Minnesota!
It was a great gift to receive your comment on my blog and to find yours!!!
