Bursa & Birds & Bad Fats

My huge fall on hands and knees resulted in injury to an MCL, but it turns out the inflamed bursa of the knee is the source of the extreme pain in running/walking. After consulting with my physical therapist, it seems like the best hope of healing an injured bursa may be to totally quit annoying it. I'm on the couch.

Sweet Pea caught a woodpecker enjoying the orange we had put out for the orioles.

Minnesota's own trans fat (don't eat it ever) salted nut roll post race freebe.
Check the ingredient list and pass this one by. "Partially hydrogenated" !

Next New Year's when you think about taking down the holiday wreath... consider that a robin may build a nest in it if you leave it up for Memorial Day.

Mamma Robin appreciates.

Sorry to hear that you are on the couch. I hope it speeds your recovery and you are up and about soon!

Well, hopefully knowing what's the real cause of the knee pain and taking care to let it heal up will get you back to running sooner. Funny about the nest in the wreath!

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

I love your approach to life. Commendable. If everyone would (could?) think like you, the world would be a much better place!

Please keep us posted on your injuries! Take care!

I love the nest! We seem to have one, for the third year in a row, in our chimney. We can hear the cheeps at odd times of day.

Heal well!

Ouch! Turns out an inflamed bursa is what made my hip so painful. Here's to your speedy recovery. Ps. Thanks for the lovely puppy and bird photos.

Get better! Sorry you fell. Around my porch, I've had interesting bird nests that showed up too. The mother (and father)birds do funny things to keep you away from the young 'uns.

Is your couch positioned so you can at least look out and see all the birds? Hope the rest heals your knee right up.

Sorry to hear more bad news about your knee! Hopefully this doesn't last long! I really don't think race organizers think about what most likely was a promotional freebie (the nut bar) when it comes time to fill up the race packets. I've gotten some very nice things over the years, some totally useless things, and some very strange things. Along with all the paper race forms and info that gets thrown out more than saved.

fast recovery. I just started running again last week after 5 weeks off. It felt like a lifetime but you will enjoy it even more if that is possible.
Good luck

Ouch! My husband had a similar injury in the same place and did as you are -- taking it very easy for about a molnth. Results were good, as they will be for you.
